First I’d like to say I didn’t fall off the earth like some people supposed.
Next I’d like to thank those of you that have hung in there waiting for my return.
I was sick, got back logged and had to meet other responsibilities first.
I did make a few animal puppet mittens; frog, lion, and pig in children’s sizes. I hope to make more mittens in the future.
If you have a free pattern for mittens and would like a link added to the blog just let me know and I’ll check it out.
My test knitters are out there and will get my free pattern tested out as soon as they can I’m sure. They are very nice people and very busy people too.
Thanks again, Kevin’s Mom

Hi Lady Euphoria!! I thought you may like to know that I started testing out you mitten pattern. I've nearly finished a pair of child's mittens in red 100% new wool. I used vintage double pointed needles sized 3.5.
ReplyDeleteI first thought wow there are a lot of instructions here but when I went through it I was glad there was and could see why you wrote it out the way you did. It covers every single angle to knitting mittens of different sizes. I especially like=d the idea of the long tail cast on for the thumbs. Very good idea.
I've posted a pic of it on my knitting blog.
cheers

What a wonderful thing you are doing here and a very apt way of honouring the memory of an obviously lovely son! {{{Hugs to you}}} As soon as I've finished my current projects, I'll come back to this. I don't think I've ever made a pair of mittens (to my shame) and what better place to start.
